The Adventures of

Buddy & Max 2 – Being Lost

How can you find your way, when you are lost

What must you pay to know, what is the cost

To know the way home, again

            Back with family, and friend

Safe in bed before, the morning frost

One day when Max was playing, in the yard

He tried to catch a bunny he ran, really hard

`           Into the wrong, direction

            And without his, detection

He was lost by giving, up his guard

Just like a puppy, he began to cry

No one answered, he didn’t know why

He ran to the right, into a fence

And let out a growl, in self-defense

How could he find home, he had to try

Max looked in all directions but the, bunny was nowhere

And by his best detections, he did not know where

            The bunny had, disappeared

            Which was a, little weird

But the bunny left tracks which, led Max to show where

Max ran around a tree, came face to face with the bunny

Both were calm as could be, and they both looked very funny

            They were, nose-to-nose

            Wondering which, way to goes

Max doing the chasing, and the runaway bunny

Nose-to-nose you get a good smell and identify, friend from foe

Sometimes it shows you can’t always tell you don’t, always know

When you’re lost, who can you trust

Beware of strangers, that is a must

But neither one wanted to say farewell or felt like they, had to go

The bunny gave the first signs of communication, he wiggled his nose

Max seemed to understand this information, he wiggled his nose

Now what a sight, a dog and a bunny

No feelings of fright, was kind of funny

Max asked the bunny if he knew where was his home, by wiggling his nose

Both Max and the bunny could see the sun, was going down

And they both knew it would be very, dark all around

How would Max be able, to find his way

Back home before the, end of the day

Max was worried that he would be lost, and never found

Max remembered the man and the, dog named Buddy

He missed his home and he, felt real cruddy

He wondered if he would, see them again

The man and the dog, were his best friend

Max loved the man and the, dog named Buddy

Then Max remembered what the man, had once said

About love coming from God he thought of, that instead

            Being just, a puppy

            Could he be, so lucky

Max thought “Would God hear him or was, he misled.”

He was just a puppy could God, hear his prayer

He thought with the bunny this idea, he would share

All the bunny did was, wiggle his nose

So it goes to show what, a bunny knows

The bunny did not listen he seemed, not to care

Now we don’t know, what a puppy knows

We do know the love, that a puppy shows

So if love comes, from God

Then it is not, so odd

It is as plain as the, face behind your nose

Then the bunny hopped off in a particular direction like he, knew just where to go

Max followed the bunny for his protection, “Where’s he going?”, he wanted to know

Unknown to Max the bunny ate, in the man’s garden

It was lunchtime for the bunny and, no one was guarding

Veggies for the taking and the way home, the way he would now show

Then his nose led Max in a, friendly direction

Now he had the power, of smell detection

He knew which, way led home

And he would no longer, be alone

Safe at home in, the man’s protection

The smell of the man’s cooking, pointed the way

Safe back at home was looking, real good today

             The nose, always knows

             Which way, should he goes

Max knew when he got home he, would never stray

Max had kisses for the man and Buddy, when he saw them

Max gave his best wishes and he cried, a special hymn

Max was so glad, to see the man

Max told him the, best way he can

Max was full of love from the two he was, filled to the brim
