The Adventures of
Buddy & Max 5 – Animals and Bugs
Buddy and Max were playing in, the yard together
It was a warm sunny day, good summer weather
When out of the woods, jumped a deer
Running past to get, out of there
He flew by them like he was, light as a feather
Now Buddy is the bigger puppy of, the two
Max usually had to do what Buddy wanted, to do
Buddy usually, got his way
The deer got, his that day
By scaring the puppies to run and, flee too
As the deer ran away they heard the neighbor’s, dog barking
It must be a big dog Buddy and Max were, remarking
They did not, disagree
That it was, time to flee
Back safe at the house their tails they, were parking
But why were they both so afraid, of the deer
He was more scared of getting, out of there
Just because he was, bigger than them
Is that enough, to be condemned
As a chicken or scared-e-cat, would appear
Safe in the house Buddy & Max were, thinking
How low their bravery indeed was, sinking
They could have stood, their ground
Instead of running, around
And let trouble pass them by without, blinking
What about the big barking dog, next door
There was nothing to feel, afraid for
This K-9 was hooked to, a clothesline
He was choked when he, pulled each time
Buddy & Max did not know this, before
You can’t always believe, what you hear
What you see is not, always clear
Buddy & Max learned, a good lesson
It left them with a, good impression
Don’t let emotions control your, thoughts with fear
As Buddy & Max were sitting, in the kitchen
Something was crawling on Buddy, making him itching
Max said “It is just, a ladybug
Maybe she was lonely, needed a hug”
But Buddy thought it was a joke Max was, pitching
Buddy should have listened, to Max he could trust
Instead of filling up with panic, and ready to bust
Max finally got Buddy, to calm down
Buddy finally had his feet, on the ground
The little puppy helping the, big puppy adjust
Sometimes it’s hard to see things small as a, ladybug
Not so large and easy to see like a, potato bug
Problems sometimes seem, bigger than they are
Sometimes it’s hard to figure, it’s kind of bizarre
Don’t be fooled or scared by YOUR next problem, ladybug
Now where Buddy & Max lived with the man they, had a pool
Nowhere is there a sign that says “No Dogs, In the Pool”
Even though the pool, had a cover
Max was determined, to discover
What was all this water doing, in the pool
Max ran right out, on the cover
But he quickly did discover
The cover was, very thin
And he almost, fell in
Until the man took hold, of his collar
If there is something bothering, you
Something you must get, through
Whether a puzzle challenge, or task
You may need some help so, just ask
Then do your best at whatever you, do
Sometimes you may need a, helping hand
It’s hard when you struggle to, understand
Saying, a prayer
Will get you, somewhere
Better than where, you now stand
Buddy & Max knew there was a God, to pray to
From watching the man that’s what he, used to do
He was not, a preacher
He was just, a believer
He had read the Bible, through and through
Buddy & Max together had, learned a lot
Some they remembered some, they forgot
The most important thing, they learned
Don’t let your feelings, get burned
By something on your way, to the top
