The Pillars of Truth

Joshua & David

Ding dong the bells, will ring

Remind us it’s time, to sing

          It is, Sunday school

          Don’t you, be uncool

Come celebrate, our King

Buddy & Max went with the man to, teach his class

Of Sunday school students they came to hear, him in mass

They were all eager to hear, what he had to say

About the Sunday school lesson, he picked for today

Telling Bible stories the man’s act, was first-class

Joshua 6:1–27

Joshua was a brave leader who after, Moses died

Led the Israelites through the desert and, God would guide

He led them over the, Jorden River

So God on his promise, could deliver

The land of milk and honey as the, Israeli pride

But first the Israelites had to, learn a lesson

It was part of this Sunday, school session

They had to lean in, God we trust

And doing Gods will, was a must

And God will reward you, with his blessing

The man taught the Israelites didn’t trust, God at first

Forty years they wandered in that desert, and much worse

They made a gold idle and, worshiped it

When Moses was on the, mountain tip

Getting the 10 commandments, verse for verse

God did not allow Moses to, enter the land

His sin held him back, we understand

Joshua was God’s next, chosen one

When time to take possession,  had begone

Joshua put his trust in God, was a good plan

This was the land of Canaan and, they had to fight

One time in Jerico was, a holy sight

God told the Israeli people, to sing

Down come the wall he, would bring

The children of Israel, would win that night

They did what God told, them to do

And like what God said, it came true

The walls of Jerico city went, tumbling down

The Isreal soldiers came in took, over the town

And they gave God the glory and, their faith grew

1 Samuel 17

A shepherd boy named David killed lions, with a sling

He threw stones not arrows or spears, was his thing

When he met Goliath the, giant in battle

The giant fell down, dead in the gravel

Samual the prophet anointed shepherd boy, David the King

David was humble self-possessed and, unassuming

He was the son of Jessie he had a good, upbringing

David was in the, bloodline of kings

Someday his bloodline will, do marvelous things

Trumpets will blow in heaven and angles, will be singing

David was also a man who took action, when needed

When he trusted in God he always, succeeded

          But when David, did sin

          All his troubles, begin

Bathsheba gave him more problems than, he needed

God is a loving God when it comes, to our sin

God is always ready to hear us, repent to him

          He washes, away our sin

          Like it, had never been

God so loved us he will forgive us again, and again

David had a repentant heart and, acknowledged his sin

He again put his trust in God and, asked to forgive him

God will do the same for, us today

When we repent our sins are, washed away

David is a good example we can, learn a lot from him

God forgave David and he, will of our sin

Confess to God and let the, healing begin

Ask him to, guide your path

So you may not, feel his rath

And hate he has for all, who choose to sin

Buddy & Max wondered how sin, could affect them

They were not people they were, not even kin

          The message from, this lesson

          Left them no, more question

God loves us all but he, hates our sin

David was from, Bethlehem

He was God’s, anointed man

          A savior would, follow him

He would be one, of his kin

He would be borne the, son of man
